Rails Developer

  • JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    As a rails developer you will be working with our core server team to enhance and improve the server part of Scoreloop's offering. Tasks include the writing of controllers and views as well as extending the existing core plugin. Since a significant part of the code base is only interfacing with the Core Social SDK via a server-client API, you will have to write extensive specs (tests) to ensure high code quality. You should enjoy writing maintainable code and be familiar with software architecture concepts (e.g. design patterns). Together with the Core Social SDK team for the different plattforms, you should evaluate and implement changes to the client-server API.

    * Extending and improving the client-server API together with the client side team
    * Write specs for all your changes
    * Enhance and improve our other applications having a Web front end
    * Work with our bug tracking system to reproduce and fix errors

    REQUIREMENTS:
    * At least 2 years experience with ruby and ruby on rails
    * A university degree in computer science (or in other science)
    * A strong passion for software architecture and software development
    * Very good experience in web technology (HTML, Ajax, JSON)
    * Very good knowledge of programming with relational databases (ActiveRecord)
    * Enjoy working in a team
    * Organized and comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously
    * Proven communication skills / Attention to detail
    * Strong command of English
    * Self-starting, driven and passionate

    DESIRED SKILLS AND PLUSES:
    * Interest in mobile social gaming and social networks
    * Experience with iPhone/Android
    * Experience in developing mission critical enterprise software
